i want to be at this party, and i want these dresses that are like the party is right up IN them. confetti forever and ever! (because it gets everywhere. so. FOREVER!) roomie and spacey and fun with the jutting of skinny limbs.

also. and this is a promise. if you get me that gold wet suit, i will do a half-ironman. i won't promise a full, cause i know my knee would die on the run. but for SURE a half. i know y'all want me to. pushy athletic family... also i would probably need a road bike. feel free to gift them together, the bike and the suit.

tiny human soon

claire is gonna have a baby soon! and we had a parté for her and alex and it was great. i am pretty excited about this baby, because it is gonna be well-loved and probably a lot of awesome-cool.

the amazing hostesses did such a great job, and i wish i'd brought a good camera and captured all the lovely. like the homemade scones served with clotted cream and jam. and the tiny tea sandwiches (cream cheese and various... red onion, cucumber...) with their crust perfectly cut off. and even printed tea menus. so charming and delicious.

kate made this hilarious-creepy-frog-mouse-head pinata. we painted it together. sooooooo funny. claire managed not to injure herself or others, which is particularly impressive.

i did grow

and here we are. at the me party! for, as you know, i recently had a birthday. so i had some lovely folks over. there were flowers, and two cakes (one made by me, one brought by marc&mel - vegan dufflet chocolate cake of magical-magics), and snacks, and candles, and bubbly! or. bubblé. tons of it. and new bubblé glasses to boot!

and the next day was relaxed and bright, with the flowers remaining and reminding. here we go, 28.

there was once a beauty of a girl named kate, and she did have a birthday, and she did organize a ceasar-brunch-party for this birthday, and it was so great. there was amazing food and company and puppies and pajamas. and light. i made the baking powder biscuits from the purity cookbook. with cheese. in.

forever soon

we're going back in time a bit, now, to january. sarah and i hosted a wee little engagement party for the most magical-wonderment couple of friends marc and mel.

marc and mel are so fantastically well matched it almost hurts me. in a 'stabbing joy into my heart' kind of way. and beyond that, they are the greatest human-friends a girl could ever dream of. mel has been a constant rock for me since i moved to the toronto. i have called her crying and happy and crying and desperate and ranty and chatty and every other possible mood one can call a person in. she has made time for me over and over in her insanely hectic schedule. she has given me advice and wisdom that a therapist could charge crazy dollars for. and all that makes her pretty much one of the most amazing persons a person could hope to spend time near. and then! she goes and gets engaged to marc. who is smart and witty and attentive and inspiring TOO! and HE has given me so much love and support over the last two years that i can't even believe it. together they always go way above and beyond any call of friendship for me. and they love and respect and care for each other in a way that is nothing short of inspiring. i love them so. i'm remembering, just now, that i already wrote a love-vomit-fest post about them when they first got engaged. i think... although i can't find it. so. oooops. whatever! i can't say it enough. can't.

but. back on track and away from my feelingsheart. here are some photos from our little gathering. all vegan! such a lovely time! (and darn those kids, marc and mel went and bought me a punchbowl for the party! the big jerks! buying me a present for THEIR party?!)
