conversations we did not have

how are you feeling this morning? i am feeling shaken. all weekend, really. i've been having these strangely intense dreams for the last few weeks. they're not nightmares, but they're not really pleasant either. they're a little too vivid, a little too close to reality, a little too intense. everything in them is loaded.

well. anyway. clothes. these things feel right for today.

go to the woods

fairytales are dark shit, and this vivienne westwood certainly works for that. and with all the shows about fairytales happening in the 'real world' these days, it's very timely.

i love love love the makeup. so rosy and bright, but eerie. flushed. and the vibrant but somehow dark colours. maybe it's the lighting. good lighting.

and. yes, let's put a bike on the runway! yes let's! that's for readers of thisishooper who stumble over here accidentally.  you're welcome! (the face that model is making is absolute perfection. maybe that's a weird thing to say. but. i love it. love it. love her.)

finally. DRAW ON YOUR KNEE SOCKS!

away

let us take a moment. a still moment.

for raf simons. who is leaving jil sander. this is his final collection here. and it breaks my heart.

i have been so so in love with what he has done over the last few years (he has been with the line for 7 years...). jil sander is definitely in my top five favourite lines now. maybe even top two with alexander mcqueen... maybe. probably. and i'm so sad to see him go. many the heavy sighs.

this show is stunning. it is quiet. but it is not for a lack of things to say. rather, there is an intensity and conviction being whispered. the opening coats, being held closed by the models... oh god, how good, how sad. hand over heart. gripping... the efficient and considered changes in colour. the turn briefly to red, and then back to pale, and then to black... the placement of each line, each seam.and the flowers that are everything i could ever want flowers to be... please let my life look like this runway. please.
