THE DARKEST HAIRS!!!

better pictures at some point, but it is BRAND NEW and i wanted you to be the first to know. thanks for all your votes and thoughts! it was pretty close between dark and white, with many a folk believing white hair to feel the most like my natural hair-state. and i kinda agree. in my heart my hair is white. and thus. nay! we could not do that! we need adventure and change and neeeeewwwwwww things. so. a super dark chocolate brown. (red did surprisingly well in the surveying, and i nearly went for it... until mel pointed out that red is super hard to maintain, and toop pointed out that maybe it would be tooooo creepy with sarah and i living together - a ginger-haired horror house!) love you all for playing along. very excited about this hairs.

i have a plan!

i am stealing this brilliant idea from heart of light which she borrowed from simple lovely.

this year i will blog about everything i buy.

okay, no, not EVERYTHING (and y'all are all 'i can't WAIT to hear about whether or not she bought cilantro!' i did. i did buy cilantro...) just the non-normal-life things. anything 'special' or outside the norm.

this is an effort to think very carefully about how and where i'm spending my monies. since i know how much i love shopping, clothes, and THINGS! i love things. but i do have a lot of things already. and if i'm blogging about the things that are coming into my home, then i'm going to have to be completely comfortable justifying them to the internets. you see? accountability! in accounting!

unlike the version i'm stealing from, i won't be posting gifts i'm giving. unless i get something super-mega-cool and i'm extra-bigtime excited about it. i feel like i'll feel weird about posting about things i'm giving like 'check me out i'm mega generous yo!' which i am. but i'd like to PRETEND to be modest about my spectacular gift-givery.

i will also occasionally post about things i'd very much like. now is definitely a time for me to wait on purchases and consider them and be sure i'm getting the RIGHT ONE. so. before long you'll start seeing posts about boots i want. there are a lot of great-and-useful boots out there, and most of mine are falling apart. so i'll moon over some for a while. and then maybe one day you'll see some boots that i've bought thoughtfully, and we can all high-five and feel great about it!

to start this thang off, we have a special sort of purchasepost. gift-card purchases! post-christmas-continuation-purchases! yayyeeee!

from lee-jim-and-kids i got a card from the bay. and with it i bought a solo cupcake stand!!! (picture to come when i make the below-mentioned vegan cupcakes this weekend...) the first in what will surely be a spectacular cake and cupcake stand collection. its first week it held one orange. this week it houses rubber ducky. soon it will hold one spectacularly decorated vegan cupcake at an engagement part for marc&mel. (assuming i pull it off... otherwise it will hold one disappointing and tragic vegan cupcake. but let's keep things hopeful, yeah?)

aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnd. from chris&janice&declan i got a card for joe fresh and it was the BEST SCORE! hooray for season-change sales on everything i wanted!!!!

clothes clothes clothes! and SHOES! work appropriate adorable shoes! and. i love love love that shirt!!! it is ACES! also there is a pale pink-peach silky t-shirt, but margene bumped me and coffee got on it. so. no photo right now.

outfit 1 - club monaco 'cinnamon' pants, h&m shirt, earrings, and necklace, aldo shoes and belt, kenneth cole 'pet' purse (a regular, you'll notice...), grandma h aquamarine ring. lips to match nails, of course.











outfit 2 - zara (BIRTHDAY!) dress, h&m tights, earrings, ring, and cardigan, hibou shoes from little burgundy. tights were entertaining and dizzying on grass AND our hotel room rug.





outfit 3 - zara dress and blazer, pashmina from that random little shop in the grassmarket, edinburgh, unknown socks and tights, cooperative boots from urban outfitters, grandma h yellow-gold ring. nail colour change! and, though you can't see it, yellow eyeshadow. (damned glasses!)



outfit 4 - club monaco pants, h&m top, and socks, american eagle belt, scarf from the textiles museum in toronto, earrings from that going out of business jewels shop in bath... NEW! AREGENTINE! complot sweater, sibyl vane shoes. relaxo outfit.



outfit 5 - h&m shorts, zara blazer, pashmina..., urban outfitters top, unknown tights, winners boots. (big fan of that man resting his face on the door?)
