i am enjoying, now that i have more sculpted ballet-shoulders, the racer-front, sorta t-shape neckline that is happening quite a bit these days. batlestar galactica-ey. (how influential has battlestar been for fashion?! i bring it up all the time! or maybe that is just me. stuck in a space-rut. that is very possible.)

okay! paneling! i mentioned it quickly before with rodarte. i believe it is the thing. the thing that is now. super contemporary. the thing that when they look back, will be the thing of this time. in the way that the 70's is bell-bottoms, disco, hippie. and so on. sure, sure, there are lots of other things happening, and there is always a recycling and resurfacing of styles and hemlines and themes... but.

paneling. a little bit judo uniform. a little bit stiff and futurey. a little bit piecemeal and scavenged. the 'cool kids' of design (proenza schouler, mary katranzou, rodarte, and so on...). do you know what i am talking about? are you with me? coming maybe from chinese military costumes a-la terracota warriors? the breastplates of medieval knights? anyway. here is some, too! with jeremy laing.

what can i say about rodarte? well. please someone give me all of it please. thank you. especially the long pale teal thing with the chains... wedding dress please!!! and also the hair is meant to look like they've been undercut on the one side... like. you know. the hair i already had cause i am SO AHEAD OF THE TRENDS! like a trend oracle, right? (okay, sure, bryn had it first... but. still.) and we'll talk more about the 'panelling' thing soon. i have some thoughts. sorta. okay! go.
