holy cow check it out!

i have given myself the challenge of entering the BP Portrait award every year that i am in this europe-place. it is a unique award not only because it deals exclusively with portraiture and is open to people from any and all countries, but because it is judged entirely from real-life-in-the-flesh-(paint)-works. that means no photos of work. no digital submission. you have to send the real thing. and last year, apparently, they had just over 1,700 applicants. jeeeez! can you imagine how much work it would be just coordinating that many paintings, let alone judging them down to a final shortlist of 60?

oooooof.

so. i have until the 15th of february to FINISH the painting of the two girls (which has finally been titled - 'of him that brought salvation down (Hannah & Emma Noyes)'). then, once registered, i will courier same painting to London. or hand deliver it to a place near Glasgow... i haven't decided which yet.

and THEN. if (IF) i get shortlisted, i'll be kickin it in London for all kinds of dinners and press evenings in early june. it could happen... everyone cross your fingers and hold your breath, and other helpful things.

fingers crossed, not for luck but for your bestest ever inspired painting to hit the canvas and dry in time for this
