a confession

oh gosh, guys. this is hard for me.

see, my intention was to have my first official purchase post be quite light... you know: i bought a few organizational items from ikea! no big deal! my coffee looks so nice and orderly on the counter!

(i did.)
(and it does.)

but then. disaster struck. or. the best thing ever happened at the worst of times. megasale at nine west. oh yes. total mayhem. see, i have to walk past this nine west in my work building pretty much every day... and i've been eyeing a few pair of boots there, and sighing at the price and telling myself 'no' because i didn't need them, really, and they were too expensive, and all the other responsible things you tell yourself to not buy the boots that you love.

and then every pair of black boots i own fell apart. actually. this is not an exaggeration. on the ankle booties, the heels are barely holding on. they wobble and pull as you walk. dangerous! on the low calf boots the leather has shredded off the heels, AND the bottoms are nearly an inch shorter than they should be through constant wear. on the high-heeled thigh-highs, the caps on the heels have worn through and need replacing. and. finally. just this last week. the zipper on the flat thigh-highs busted.

boot massacre!

and i have plans to have them all repaired eventually. but that's not going to be cheap and i certainly won't be doing them all at once. aka. heartbreak.

so today. when i was walking back from the bank machine, just having taken out my spending cash for the next two weeks, i noticed that the nine west sale wall had once again been further discounted. well there is no harm in checking it out, right?

wrong! steals of deals!

the moral is i got some boots. they're great and well-made and comfy and work-appropriate and they were 40% off the already mega-sale price. at just over $80. i know i can't REALLY afford them, but it is probably just marginally more than repairing a single pair of my brokedown boots would be. right?

riiiigggght?

also, i did use my spending cash and not some crazy credit card, so i feel like i did the responsible thing. i'll just eat less. i really like rice and beans anyways.

i can say that there was another pair of boots that i loved just as much that were just as on sale (or almost... a little more monies, but not much.) and they were beautiful and came up to my knee and were oh so perfect. but i didn't buy them. no. i didn't. and that is progress.
