I had Mixed Feelings about this film. In that it was gorgeous, really beautiful, and I loved all the spacey stuff, love it! But, I disagreed with the whole "Everything alive is evil" thing. Amoral, sure, maybe, but evil? Whatever, blonde whiner, get over yourself. I hope you get smashed with a planet. Oh. Um. ...

(The sister was great, though, hey? Man, older sisters are great.)

(Also, did you notice how it's pretty much all the men who are evil? Or, giant jerks, anyway? The men. I think Lars maybe had a message/bone-picking there. All except that one worker guy.)

ha HA! right?! but NAY!

see, because. justine. she's depressed as HELL right?! like. mega mental ill. and when you are suicidal-depressed, the end of the world, is, you know. kinda the greatest. because. you get to die. but none of the guilt bits of leaving behind and hurting.

i thought her character turn was brilliant! like. saddest ever. for sure. but right on. as far as. gaining strength from the end. whereas awesome claire (who IS awesome) completely falls apart because life to her is so so important and it is a great loss. see?! SEE?! so claire is strong and justine is weak, but then presto reverso. end of the world!

saddest. yes. yeeesssss. but a brilliant portrayal of really severe depression.

(also, you never like kirsten dunst. remember how much you hated her in little women. i get it. you hate listtle sisters. harsh. so harsh.)

and YEAH! the men! sigh. except. i mean. mike tried, right? but then didn't... but he did! okay we need to have a real conversation about this! GRIMAS!!!
